Why are my Tires Losing Contact with the Road?

When one or more of your tires loses contact with the road, driving can be scary. You can feel a sensation of hydroplaning or that you can't properly control the direction in which your vehicle travels. Your vehicle is designed to drive with 4 tires on the road, and if only 3 are in contact with the road, your vehicle will not be safe to operate. Typically this only happens during certain weather conditions, such as heavy rain, when your tire isn't able to push through the water on the surface of the road to create traction.  Most modern vehicles are equipped with a traction control system which will help when you find yourself driving in wet weather. This system has a sensor that will alert you if one or more tires isn't making contact with the road. If this happens, the traction control system won't push any power to the tire that isn't creating traction and will instead shift that power to the other tires for maximum control capabilities.  Here are so ... read more

When Should I Replace My Windshield Wipers?

The windshield wipers on your vehicle are very important to the overall safety of your car. Especially here in Florida, rain can strike at any time, and not having properly working windshield wipers can make it impossible to see the road clearly. When the weather is extremely hot, like during the summer, windshield wipers tend to dry out and begin to crack and fray. This is when they should be replaced. The best time to replace your vehicle's windshield wipers are - after the summer, and before the spring.  If your windshield wipers need to be replaced, you will notice some speci ... read more

The Importance of Regular Car Inspections

Regular inspections are the best way to catch any issues early on before they turn into major problems. This not only helps keep you safe on the road, but also helps you save lots of money over time!  So the top question about inspections is - how often do I need them? The answer depends on a couple of different factors. First, how often you get an inspection will depend on the age of your vehicle. An older vehicle should get an inspection more often than brand new vehicles. It will also depend on your driving habits, and how often or far you drive your vehicle. If you drive your vehicle quite a lot and are often driving far distances, an inspection more often would be ideal.  If you have a more recent vehicle and drive your car normally, we recommend having your vehicle inspected at least twice a year as preventative m ... read more
